Personal Injury Case - Litigation
Litigation Support Specialists Clients
I suffered a traumatic on-the-job in jury in 2007.  My attorney was too involved in other matters so he handed my case (against then multi-million dollar real estate developer Michael Mastro) over to Ms. Smith, paralegal.  I thank God that I was put in such capable hands!  Ms. Smith worked on my case tirelessly, often calling me late at night and on weekends to gather more information that was needed to proceed with the case.  I had four separate surgeries on my injured left shoulder and endured years of rehabilitation.  All went smoothly thanks to Ms. Smith's professionalism and concern for my health and personal welfare!  I would highly recommend her to any person who is looking for top-notich legal help, and I am proud to give my name for references.

Easement
I recently had the need to recruit Barb Smith’s services for an easement issue on my property. I contacted her based on a referral from another friend. She was very friendly, quick, and thorough. She asked me all the right questions to make certain I was getting exactly what I needed to ensure, my property would not be violated now or, in the years to come. I couldn’t have asked for a better person to interact with on such short notice (she even worked on my matters over the weekend), to guarantee I had the documentation by the deadline that was set upon me. It was an outstanding experience on a matter that I was unfamiliar with. Thank you, Barb Smith for your hard work in an area that I needed guidance in.

Landlord/Tenant - Delinquent Tenant Garnishment
I want to express my deep appreciation for completing a long legal and difficult collection from a most arrogant person. From September 1, 2009 to the final conclusion, April 23, 2012 these paralegals never let go of my request to collect the losses I acquired due to the failure of the tenant to fulfill his obligation to the lease agreement he signed with me On May 11, 2009. To you, Darlene, I am most grateful for your tenacity to bring this to conclusion for several reasons. One, I believe one should never feel ashamed for going after what is rightfully owed, no matter what the amount. Two, hopefully, it will teach the person owing the money they can’t get away with not paying a legal debt. Three, pursuing this matter during a difficult and stressful time for me, and finally after two years and seven months, seeing it come to a positive conclusion for all, is a delightful event. Darlene, thank you for all your tireless effort. Job Well Done!

Contract Enforcement
There are no words to describe the outstanding effort put in by Ms. Hall to bring an unusual and costly matter to justice. I was involved in a divorce and my ex-wife unknowingly gave “our” car to a broker in another state to try and sell it. The car was sold to a resident in California while we lived in Washington State. While she was granted the car in the divorce, my name was still on the title and I was still responsible for the vehicle. The car ended up in an automobile accident with two other parties out-of-state. Ms. Hall relentlessly persevered in contacting the broker, the new owner and interacted with all three insurance companies. The Credit Union that held the original loan never told me that there was no legal binding insurance on the car which was a requirement of the original loan documents. I had no idea that the car was not insured at the time of the accident. The case concluded with no action brought against me or my ex-wife, and the car was paid off by the Credit Union. They agreed that it was their error. Thank you Darlene!

My elderly mother-in-law rented property in Belfair to house a small manufactured home at an RV park. There was a discrepancy with the electric bills from November 2005 through July 2011. Charges were being billed at rates that were never consistent, and she was charged for electricity even when she was not at the rental unit. She had been a long-time renter for quite some time, was an excellent tenant and always paid her bills in a timely manner. In conclusion, Darlene was able to contact the Manager and the General Manager of the park and show them where all the discrepancies existed. The case concluded with my mother-in-law receiving a refund, supposed late fees were reimbursed, the General Manager hired a new meter reader and instruction was given to the park manager on future billing to the residents. This matter could not have concluded in a better manner. We are grateful for Darlene’s help!

Utilities Dispute
I have known Barbara Smith ever since she was just getting started as a paralegal, when she worked for me. (That is two decades ago!) My strongest memory is how well she could research and write. Accurately. Clearly. Concisely. Just as an experiment, I had her draft a brief in a high profile case where the insurer was seeking dismissal. With almost no direction from me, she not only wrote the brief, but we beat back the motion from the house counsel of a major insurance company!
